Dr. Tang is available for PQME evaluations.

Dr. Can Tang is a board certified psychiatrist. He attended the University of Arizona where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in philosophy. He also received his Master of Public Health degree (M.P.H.) and his M.D. at the University of Arizona. His four years of adult psychiatry training was at the University of California, Irvine Psychiatry Residency Program.

  • He does not work for any QME companies. This allows him to form his own conclusions without being influenced by company policies.
  • He provides evidence-based and unbiased medical opinion.
  • His reports are concise. They are not long-winded.
  • His goal is to explain the rationale behind his conclusions versus merely stating what they are.
  • Appropriate psychological testing is administered in order to obtain objective data to be integrated with the interview, the applicant’s self-report, and the medical records.
  • The reports address relevant labor codes.
  • Using substantial medical evidence he addresses all issues that are important in order to resolve a claim.
  • He “calls it as it is.” He will make sense of the case and provide the proper analysis with data that can be supported.
  • On average his reports are completed in 2 ½ weeks.

He is in a unique position to assist parties in resolving disputes: 1) As a philosophy major, Dr. Tang is accustomed to looking at information objectively and forming concise and persuasive arguments. He is used to assessing the validity of objections from both sides. 2) He has had a clinical private practice in Orange County since 2007. He stays up-to-date with the psychiatric literature to ensure patients are getting proper assessment and treatment.
