Born in Vietnam, I came to this country at the age of five.  I attended college at the University of Arizona where I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in philosophy.  Understanding human nature has always been a passion of mine.  Studying philosophy has given me a greater appreciation of the human condition.  Philosophy has taught me critical thinking skills which have been invaluable for me to assist others when they feel “stuck” or apprehensive in making important decisions.   People are often afraid that they will make the wrong decisions.  They tell me it is helpful to critically explore their circumstances and options in order to feel more at peace with their decisions.

After my philosophy degree, I spent the next 2 years earning my Master of Public Health degree (M.P.H.) at the University of Arizona. Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of communities. After receiving my Master of Public Health degree, I spent my final 4 years at the University of Arizona and graduated from medical school.  Afterwards, I came to University of California, Irvine, for my 4 years of general adult psychiatry training. I have maintained a private practice in Orange County since 2007.

I feel fortunate to be able to combine my interest in psychology, philosophy, and medicine into a career where I can help others find practical solutions to life’s problems.
